This game bases it's scoring off kills you get. So if you went negative, that means you gave the other team more points than you scored. So K/D does matter in this game when showing whether or not your're helping the team, or a detriment to the team.
People need to stop making the excuse 'I constantly try to capture the objective is why my K/D is bad.' You aren't helping the team at all if you keep dying over and over.

True, however, depending one what philosophy one subscribes to, some - myself included - argue that the strong become even greater, and the flock benefits altogether, when they are helping, teaching, and leading those whom aren't at a similar skill level. Good leaders lead. Great leaders create more good/great leaders.

Yeah, but it's a beta. Bungie wants us to try and break the game, experiment etc.. So why is everyone worrying about k/d ratio? I been jumping around. Exploring the maps. Worry about k/d when September comes.. It's pointless now.. Have a good day everyone :)

Didn't read the OP did you

I did. Just knew people were going to say K/D doesn't matter, or mine sucks because I always run objective. Figured I'd just respond with this instead of answering the OP's question.
