Well, that would mean that Bungie would have to make 3 different 'flamethrower' style weapons in order to make it fit the elemental damage system:
Flamethrower (Solar)
Arc Caster (Arc)
Void Torch (Void)
I honestly don't think that Bungie will do something like that for Destiny. [i]If[/i] they ever decide to do it, it will be in Destiny 2.

Much more likely because it will be easier on the dev team. Although, I would like to have a grenade launcher for my Titan. It would be a nice blend between the destruction of a launcher and the versatility of a HMG. Although, I would like to have a weapon that functions like the Reach Concussion Rifle.

I imagine that the void torch would emit a torrent of charged void particles or something of the ilk. The Arc Caster would emit a dispersed stream of electricity to the target. Over all, each elemental 'caster' type weapon should have a unique aesthetic.
