or have earplugs that actually work (damned if i've ever heard of them)
What are those? /s
The only time I ever find to be really quiet is at night, so it often has that negative effect you were talking about, but other than that it's hardly ever entirely silent wherever I am, be it my own room or in a classroom taking a test, or even my school's library. So, I think that I really, really like near or total silence, whenever I get it, at least most of the time. I bet total silence would be so peaceful and relaxing..
No such thing, in my experience. lol
And I don't usually experience that negative effect at night, because silence and darkness are two of my favorite things, and at least for me they work very well together in providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
For me, in my opinion, extreme silence is not always enjoyable at night. But extreme silence during the early morning when it's still kind of dark and no one else is up yet? That time's awesome, and I think it's the best time to play video games because of how relaxing I think it is :D
Hm, maybe, video games are usually a for a time when I don't really want to relax, but don't want to do a whole lot in regards to activity. It's a neutral ground. And in the early morning, i'm not usually up, but solitude and relative darkness are a great setting for meditation in my book.
