I see your point.
While the update/change/addition period may be longer on a console; that still does not excuse Bungie from pulling back as far as they can from their Community, and effectively telling us "we're ignoring your fine suggestions, just play what we give you".
There's much more to this issue than just adding/removing features from the game. there's a much larger disconnect that need to be dealt with at the same time.

I'm sure that Urk being a writer now, making DeeJ the only full time community manager, has some impact on how they communicate with us. I'm not blaming DeeJ however, he said himself that he wishes he could tell us everything that they were planning. My guess is, they are afraid of letting us down again. They told us so much that was in concept during pre-alpha stage, much of which didn't make it in the game, but we didn't know that part.

Personally? I would have pitched the idea to Bethesda Softworks. They would have at least let Bungie do what they want with the game and not stuck their nose in quite so much. Bobby Kotick is a cancer on the gaming industry...
