Dark Souls actually costs like double the cost of the game itself.
This is because repairs need to be done when you break your controller, console, TV screen, and headset.

If you die. Well...you will die. A lot. But, learn to perfect roll. It'll save your life, more than once.
It's when you roll at the perfect time so you don't get hit, AKA dodging.
Don't get so bummed out about dying so much. It's all about learning enemy move sets. Just study how they attack and either get a good shield or practice rolling/backstabs
Souls are the main currency you get in the game. You use them as experience to level up, and you use them to buy items.
It's very easy to die, one mistake and you're back at a campfire. Death results in losing all of your humanity (you'll learn about it later) and all of your souls.
All enemies will respawn on death, so if you don't do better than you did before and get back to where you died last to reclaim your lost items, you lose all of your progress so far towards leveling up and/or saving for items.
