It allows for quicker gameplay and the ability to get into the fight quicker. What does it take away? They've already addressed the use of Sprint as a getaway. You can't use while under fire and you can't recharge shields. It's purely an offensive ability, you can't use it to escape to escape or risk your shields, and can't use it while in a sight line of another player.

Maybe I was a little too harsh. The only correct thing you said was that it allows you to get into the fight quicker, however, this is only true due to the lower base movement speed that they incorporate into the game to compensate for sprint. Another thing you said was that it makes the gameplay quicker. That is categorically untrue, Halo will always be a slower game with sprint than without it. The reason for this is that it cannot be used skillfully in an aggressive manner. The fact that you said sprint was purely an offensive ability is baffling as it can't possibly be used that way, you can't even shoot while using it for crying out loud. It is purely a defensive ability, the only purpose it serves is to allow you to run away from a losing battle. This brings me on to my next point. It is still far too easy to run away from a battle with sprint. Play any semi-decent player in H5 and you will realise this to be true, even with the additions of having no shield recharge while using sprint and being shot out of sprint, thruster makes it just as easy to escape as it was before. You can merely thrust away out of the firing line and then sprint to your hearts content, then you hide, get your shield back and bobs your uncle.

For once I agree with log fish. I only use sprint/thrusters to get out of the fight if I'm in too deep, as does everyone else in the beta pretty much. Yeah you have a few that try to sprint at you for whatever reason but they quickly get gunned down.
