You can have 2 swords to chop away on Crota!
Easy to do... When coming out of the crystal room at the start, take down the first sword bearer as fast as possible and BEFORE THE DOOR OPENS to let out more thrall, and it will spawn a second sword bearer which in turn allows for twice the chopping fun on Crota. All credit for this goes to the fireteam members involved in finding it.
Forward to 00:26:00 for the first time they figured it out AND 01:27:00 in the video for more proof.
