Maybe if Bungie found a better way of creating difficulty besides giving bosses a ridiculously huge health bar and drowning you in add waves, people wouldn't need exploits to win.
You dont need an exploit to defeat Crota but I agree. Bungie has never understood the line between difficult and tedious. Halo's Legendary difficulty is a prime example of that.
See, the thing about Legendary difficulty in Halo was that it was optional. If you really wanted to challenge/torture yourself, you could go for it. In Destiny it's a lot less optional. If you want to get the good stuff and upgrade it at anything resembling a decent rate you have to be doing the hardest weekly strikes, nightfall, Raid, etc. If that's how they're going to roll, it'd be nice to see something better from them in the boss fight department. Every Nightfall strike I've been on, I learn a new exploit and frankly, they're the only way I can see to win those fights.
I was just throwing that out there because it's Bungie's way of doing things. The switches they have are the same as Halo's Skulls (Faster enemies, angrier enemies, more enemies etc) That's Bungie's way of difficulty I guess...
