If that's what you're worried about as a pvp player, you could just stack bounties across your characters, and then buy the upgrade. 20 bounties should propel you back to the exotic ability no problem. Especially if the weapons take less exp to level than before. Did I miss anything?

if that's true... maybe not so bad. But I still can't get beyond, I shouldn't have to. Like I posted in a different thread, could you imagine if COD or battlefield titles on new map packs or DLC's reset the EXP on your guns? so the new comers didn't feel like they were ants? OMG there would be hell to pay.

Yes, but at the same time I believe Destiny is a different beast. It's too far into being a horizontal progression based game. I generally compare to Borderlands. When Borderlands had a cap increase your numbers per level went up hundreds or thousands of points per level. And you can't level guns, when a cap increase came out you had to refarm all your gear. So it's nice we don't have to pray that we're reblessed with exotics for an extra 23(?) damage
