Is there benefit of buying one version over the other? Like hardrive space or speed?
EDIT: I use the Xbone.

2 回复Disc. You can sell it when you're done with it, and loan it out to friends. It's also nice to have a physical copy, and I like having an excuse to spend 30 minutes at Gamestop.

1 回复Buy physical, and download free/cheap digital. A disc just gives you so many more options, and helps prevent hard drive errors wiping you out. The convenience of digital, and often lower price, is undeniable though. The best option depends on your situation. In any case, pointing to your computer with 1000 games on it isn't going to impress your friends as much as pointing to a shelf with 100 games on it. It will, however, make it that much easier to steal all your games.

Heres how i pick, if i wouldnt mind standing up and moving around my room, getting the game case, changing the disc out, and then going back to my seat, ill buy the disc. On the otherhand, if i dont think the game is worth all that "effort" then ill just get the digital copy. Hard drive also is a factor later on.

4 回复I have an Xbox One as well, and I can say that I would prefer to get disc versions, it saves a lot of storage and the Xbox One only has 500gb to start, and a lot of that is already taken up by the Xbox just existing.

4 回复Technically the PS4 should be able to read from the drive faster than the disc. Is it noticeable? No. If you buy digital you can't lose it unless PSN shuts down. With a disc your dog can kick it under the tv as your switch discs and you'll need to buy a new one (FE: Radiant Dawn RIP). The PS4 doesn't support external hard drives but storage can be upgraded to 2T (I think). So storage shouldn't be an issue (for a while at least) if you did that.

1 回复I'm the black sheep of the bunch here, but I prefer the digital copy, I've had the lenses burn out of my consoles from gaming too much, and my ps4 is behind my tv so its a pain to switch disks, i just open the menu and load up the next game, that and you never get scratches or fingerprints on a hard drive.

5 回复I prefer discs, but one of the benefits of digital copies, at least on PS4, is that you can technically get two copies of a game for the price of one. And since I have a brother with his own console and we like the same games, it's much cheaper to just buy digital, except in some cases of used games.

7 回复I prefer discs in most cases. You can return/sell them, and you don't really have to worry about breaking them if you're careful. Also, it's more visible as a collection, and it's nice to look at a stack of games.
