Every time I start getting too bored, the game hooks me again. I got a Fatebringer friday night and this morning, finally got a new exotic bounty. I'd been getting the same three over and over and over again so that was sweet. On top of that, I actually love levelling weapons, farming the materials, doing the daily routine on my characters. So yeah, plenty to do. I wouldn't argue that the game could use some new content and even more population in the world, like animals and citizens that need help. That would help with the boredom, for sure.
