Just curious - those of you voting against, why? I'd like to know what issues you're having with it.

由Talaeran编辑: 10/29/2014 6:49:42 PMIt could work just as much as it could not work. Really it comes down to the levels of RNG you want and how well you trust the people you raid with. No system is perfect and each has its pros and cons. Currently RNG is per player. Each player gets a roll on what loot they get, but that loot will be their class, a weapon any of their characters can use, energy, etc. All items you can use. RNG per fireteam. X amount of items drop out of a pool of many including items for 3 different classes. This could also be energy, weapons, armor, etc. The percentage is now in fact lower that you will get a piece of armor that you specifically need for your class as it is in a larger pool of potential drops. Rolls added to RNG per fireteam. Example A) Say the item you want drops but there are 3 or 4 of your class in the fireteam that need that item. Everyone rolls, you lose the roll to someone who just hit light level 25 and you've been after it for months to hit light level 30. Example B) Say the item you want drops but there are 2 or 3 of your class in the fireteam. One person has it already but rolls anyway and gets the item because he/she needs shards. Both create nerd rage and frustration, just as the current system does. Again it just comes down to how you trust the people you raid with and the levels of RNG you can tolerate.

Good feedback... A couple remarks: Example A - This assumes the amount of gear that drops changes. It could actually drop the same amount, just throw it into a pool to be rolled on. Example B - A mechanic could be added that searches your equipped items and inventory and prevents you from "Needing" on something that you already have. Only a "Greed" option would appear.

Example A) Very unlikely the drop amount would remain the same. Likely cut in half and energy or shards removed as rewards entirely in keeping with that particular loot formula. Example B) That requires a lot of coding, which as we have all seen Bungie seems to be struggling with currently. Several bugs today exist that should have been tackled in both Alpha and Beta. Their latest patch has actually added more bugs instead of fixing previous ones. Until the developers get a better grasp on their system and how to tweak it, I believe that is a long shot and would be a disaster if they tried to implement it in the near future.
