I think being able to communicate with people more conveniently is definitely needed in this game. I don't think that an area chat in the tower would work but prob could when PVE'ing. Maybe have a local broadcast option that has a time limit and cooldown to prevent a-hole behavior. I can sort of understand not automatically being in a chat with your teammates in the Crucible but at least give the option to allow it! If you can only communicate when in a fireteam why can't I talk to people that it puts me with in a strike? They're in my fireteam! What's up with that?!?!
