If you are on Xbox One - first try the quicker fix. Go to xbox home screen, and press the Menu button (the "start" button). This brings up a menu that includes the "Quit" option. Choose quit to shut down Destiny, and restart the game. If that does not work, hard restart your Xbox. Hold the power "button" on the front if your console (the Xbox logo light) for a few seconds until it powers down completely. When you restart the console you should see the green Xbox logo screen, not just the home screen. This should clear the ship visibility problem.
