How can you have been playing since launch and not gotten enough reputation to at least get 1 or 2 pieces of legendary from vendors? Its like you completely ignored the marks and reputation system in game

This makes absolutely NO sense. Your marks buy specific pieces of gear for your class. Its impossible for you to have gotten something for another class. Its almost frustrating as to how lost you seem. You are doing it so terribly wrong its sad

No I just don't think you understand what I'm saying. I know some of it says hunter specific, Titan, ect. I know how the vendors and marks/classes work, and I know how your supposed to level up. I wouldn't have posted this if I didn't. I'm not the only person who has been having problems but congrats you seem to be the only one who thinks that the reward system is perfect.

You would be having to go COMPLETELY out of your way not to have a few pieces at this point. If you dont have those GUARANTEED pieces of equipment by now then you are either trolling or you seriously have no clue what you are doing

Everytime I purchase something it ends up not being for me. Granted I understand the engrams are fair game but I've ended up with more Titan/ warlock gear then hunter after purchases. Sadly I've only found good gear from drops.

Down in the vanguard hall there are 3 reps. 1 for the Titan, 1 for the warlock, 1 for the hunter. You can use your vanguard marks to by legendary gear from them. If you are buying the wrong class gear then that is your bad.

So it seems you have some concept of items you can buy from vendors. So why have you not gone to him and just bought your class specific gear? Its seriously that easy if your reputation is of the proper level. THE ITEMS YOU BUY FROM HIM ARE NOT LOTTO ITEMS THEY ARE ITEMS SPECIFIC TO YOUR CLASSSSSSS

The Hunter vanguard has only ever sold me engrams. I've been leveling up and every time I do, I go back see what he has and it's always been engramed items in my level and it says I need to lvl up again for gear. This has happened three times already and I decided to switch over to dead orbit, which actually seems to be working im close to lvl two and he doesn't have any engramed items so when I get there I'll finally have my first piece of legendary. I did have to purchase a cape/emblem from him to make it work though. Maybe I haven't upgraded my vanguard enough? But It was a little discouraging since I have been lvl 24 for about a week now.

You need to go talk to dead orbit and see what your reputation level is at. He is your new faction lead not the vanguard hunter. Vanguard reputation would have been gained from doing daily bounties and strikes btw.
