Edit:Im level 20 and I cant level up,I play pvp to get marks for dead orbit armor and to get armory that will level me up,and will keep me alive in the pvp cause I rarely win a gunfight >: [ ,but I NEVER get good armor,or weapons,or anything

Armor will not keep you alive in the crucible. Save for the Discipline/intellect/strength stats and perks, the armors defense and light doesnt matter here. You should still get purple armor so that you can level it for PvE. Also the aforementioned stats are good.

To get exotics, the easiest is to do tons of bounties and hope for an exotic bounty (some of which do require PvP) or to do Nightfall strikes to get Strange coins for Xur. Technically you can get the coins from PvP but it's very inefficient, so you should try to run Nightfall once a week (you only get the coins the first time).

Headshots seem to get the most drops for me. Aim for the head and dont muck around kill enemies as fast as possible. Also do bounties, everything you do in the game above level 20 should be working towards a bounty. Every time you cash in a completed bounty make sure you equip any weapons and armour you want to level up first.

Also if you aren't near level 20 then most people will have more perks and higher attack and defense because crucible is bad. For levelling up, but good for getting loot and rep and marks if you are high level. Level up in story before going to crucible and you'll do much better.
