I'm having trouble even getting legendary engrams to begin with. I've only pulled one so far from the Crucible and none from Ishtar Commons farming or any strikes. The one that I did find turned out to be a green item.... great. I do have one legendary though that I managed to get from a blue engram. It's "The Cure" rocket launcher. Which I find unfortunate since I rarely use my heavy weapon.

Nah I use auto rifles more then anything & got " the devil you know " hand cannon & " invective " shotgun it's just all random with a stroke of luck because I too get legendary engrams & nothing comes out of them so I say just continue to grind it out do with what you have the best you can to your ability if any of you guys are on xbox one look me up always searching for teammates GT sweepbeatz
