Destinydb says my gear stat is 294 and I haven't upgraded them with the exotic materials, just glimmer and the materials you find on the planets. So I shouldn't upgrade them anymore? Still jeed legendary boots tho, mine are just blue.

In other words, 272 total stats spread through all 3 stats is fine, but if you were to have 300 intelligence, 28 of it would be wasted. Edit: also, DestinyDB's Gear Score is NOT the same thing as stats. Stats are Intelligence, Discipline, Strength.
