There is some inaccurate information in here.
XP is calculated by the type of mob you kill, not your relative level difference. Dregs are always worth 20 xp, Knights are always 55 xp, etc.
It's all about the bounties and strikes for leveling fast. Crucible is good too, if you're into that sort of thing.

Like can I as a level 18 go kill enemies on earth much lower in level and gain the same amount of XP as if on Mars?
