What's the deal with nightmares?
Ok, can someone explain Nightmares to me?
I had a absolutely horrifying one last night, and now I'm afraid to sleep.

7 回复Scurry skeletons out to eat your soul OT: I guess sometimes they're your subconscious' way of saying "something is terribly wrong." Other times it just says "-blam!- you, time to run from monsters." In some ways I believe they're challenges set up by the mind. Can we do this? Are we capable, if we think we can? Sometimes these challenges are completely nonsensical and impossible.

1 回复Sometimes they might mean something, sometimes they don't, really it's all a crap shoot. They can represent your fears or desires, but in my case they mostly seem to be about traumatizing me.

2 回复It's usually a depiction of your fears being processed and analyzed by your brain, it can also come from anxiety, maybe you trying to get a job and imagining worst case scenarios, maybe losing a girl/boy you really wanted to hit it off with. It's you thinking, but you can see your thoughts vividly.

5 回复I hardly dream at all, had a lot of nightmares in my childhood, maybe my brain just wants me to prevent it from happening anymore, I like it this way anywho, rather make some magic out of the real world. *sips tea*

1 回复They're your subconscious preparing you for the real world. Not really applicable in this day and age but it's what kept our human ancestors alive.
