Caterpillar Error, resolved?
Hi everyone, My alpha and my beta experience has been ruined by the Caterpillar error (disconnection every 20 minutes around) on XBOX ONE and PS4 (everything worked perfectly on xbox 360) so, I was wondering is the problem is solved now. Thanks for your help

8 回复I might have found a fix. Go to your ISP setting and turn off any filter you might have and activate P2P if it is not already done. It worked for a lot of people in Japan who had NTT as their ISP

I fixed my caterpillar error by replacing my old non-UPnP router with a UPnP one. Which is pretty much anything you can get nowadays. I got the cheapest one I could find ($30 at the supermarket, I was in a hurry to play) and it immediately fixed the issue. Probably related: Xbox Live now doesn't tell me I have a strict NAT. So... try enabling UPnP on your router and see if the caterpillar disappears.

1 回复I had no issue in the beta, using a wired connection, but now I'm getting kicked every 5-10 minutes on the second level on earth. keeps saying caterpillar error. WTF!!!

2 回复I can't even get the game to install it constantly comes up with the caterpillar error during the download...it gets most of the way though the 5Gb download and fails every time in a different place. Closest I got was to 98% download.

I am still getting caterpillar error codes. The are appearing more often now than in the beta. I have tried clearing the cache doing a hard reset on my router, changing my location on the xbox and playing around with all my settings. I am on wired internet and I get 150mps down and 10mps up with nat type open so it is unlikely to be my internet. I hope Bungie fixes this soon as I like the look of the glimpses I get of the game.

I had this error on 360 in Beta and I am still having it today. It is saying that my connection to the server is lost. I am on a wired connection for the reason so that will not happen. I figured maybe it was the massive amount of people downloading. well here at 9am the next day it is still doing it.

If this affected you in the beta I would recommend waiting to see if Bungie fixes it. As I have already bought in, I will continue to try to play and will keep you updated on any progress that I can make with trying to fix this problem.

4 回复I'm sure that any error that you had seen in the alpha or beta has largely been resolved by now. As far as I know, though, this has not been publicly addressed. I guess we'll find out when the game launches.
