Now, the game seems to be shaping up rather well. But there's one thing that needs to be considered. Time. Time is something lots of players do not have. Many players work or have other obligations.
So there's a really easy solution that would work without imbalance in the game: the ability to pay real money to get glimmer. This way players could instead focus on playing the game instead of farming like the rest of players and wasting their time. You can't buy gear with real money so you're still at the mercy of loot drops, allowing there to be no real imbalance between players.
Example:
Bob spends 100 quid on glimmer.
Bill spends his time farming that glimmer for free.
No big deal in a game mostly focused on cooperation and strictly balanced PvP sans Iron banner.
What could possibly go wrong? People already pay over ten times the price for Ghost Editions. There's no difference here except how much you love the game and value your time. Being options, this should fit perfectly into everyone's opinions.

由Meta Sentient编辑: 8/10/2014 7:28:46 PMThis is a touchy topic, and will always garner mixed reactions, maybe they can allow cash for glimmer purchases but what use is glimmer if you don't have the vanguard / crucible / faction rank to purchase anything powerful? I won't even go into vanguard / crucible marks (pve / pvp specific item currency), so you may still need time and thus not actually have bought much progress for your hard earned cash. The only shortcut i can see from glimmer loads is to buy cryptarch ranks (buy and decrypt) and then hope for good gear from the legendary / exotic engrams you get gifted for each cryptarch level you gain, which is viable but does that belittle the work / co-ordination of some person who got their thunderlord from a raid boss drop, while you got yours from decrypting your lengedary cryptarch gifted engram? Worse still if you take it into PvP and get some major advantage in iron banner over some dude slaving to try and get an exotic, ANY exotic. I'm not sure where the answer to this really sits. Maybe you don't get exotics from engrams, maybe only legendaries, those will be common enough in end game that i can't see someone feeling slighted by someone else getting it as a decrypt, but i'm really not sure. Bungie has a very tricky topic here with the micro-transactions, i'm not fighting them (micro-transactions) and if it keeps good games getting made i'm all for it, but there needs to be a balance between what you can get from a micro trans and what is only achievable from a investment challenge standpoint.

no. The only in game items that should ever be sold, are items that are for cosmetic purposes . I.E colors for armor,,ships, etc. while still keeping the rarest colors as drop or purchaseable through in game npcs. Another thing i could possibly see being sold would be extra spaces in your vault for storage. As that is something else that would not effect gameplay in any way.

And Zuryk don't give me your copy/paste excuse of "that's not pay to win." It is. "Bill" or whoever earned his gear fair and square. You did not. You used your credit card. That is the exact definition of pay to win.

A lot of my friends said they had trouble getting glimmer. I was the exact opposite, for some reason by the end of a few hours I had racked up enough glimmer to buy a new spaceship. So I don't really see a reason why one should buy it if it can be earned with relative ease.

1 回复Paying to win never works out. It ends up ruining your experience. Let's face it. It is great destroying enemies with top level gear but it's getting that gear that is the real fun

3 回复You can pay me to farm glimmer for you. You just have to let me log on to your psn/gt. Pay me $100 I'll get you 25,000 glimmer.

1 回复Micro transactions suck. If you cant play the game as much as everyone else. Dont expect to have what everyone else has. Wouldn't mind paying for a good quality dlc though.
