- Dietz's writing style in The Flood
- "Spartans Never Die" being woefully taken out of context by the community
- Some of The Cole Protocol's more silly ideas (like a 7 foot tall Spartan being able to "blend in" with a crowd)
That's more or less the extent of my distaste as far as story goes, off the top of my head.

I've read it and really like it, but I've not read anything else he has written. It's been a while since I read the Halo stuff last, as I just read them in my school library but I'm planning on buying them all [i]en masse[/i] at some point.
