It'll keep him from fainting, but put him on 1 HP. Give him a status affect, just as long as it is not poison. Then, [u][i]spam the crap out of every poke ball you have![/i][/u]. This method got me two Mewtwos and a Victini. If you cock it up, turn it off and you'll restart from where you saved: right in front of Rayquaza.

On Pokémon diamond back when it was popular, I caught my dialga with a standard pokéball.
