It's 50.....also after 20 make sure you stack those mote-marks for special one offs from the tower

I sure can.....in the tower (north-tower) there is an npc that will take your mote-marks for class specific exotic items that fit into your class item slot eg. Hunters cloak, titans cloth, warlocks brace. To get these mote-marks you need to achieve lvl 20, after lvl 20 for every rank you will receive a number of mote-marks...hope this was helpfull

No no, you will probably unlock a seperate tracker for those mote of lights. XP you gain after lv20 will be converted to mote of light on some scale. But it sure must be expencive, it would be silly if you could get those motes left and right, you know.
