Ok, we can carry three weapons at a time and they are primary, special and heavy. For example on an xbox controller you can switch primary and special just by tapping the Y button. To get to your heavy you need to hold down the Y button.

Primary have rifles (Automatic, burst or semi auto) and pistol (normal or hand cannon). Special are snipers, shotguns, pulse and plasma rifles, etc. The heavy from what I know are just rocket launchers and heavy machine gun.
