In the United States, where the game is being produced, mature is 17+. This is because every responsible parent knows that no child under the age of 17 is mature enough to play a violent, online video game.
Fortunately, your first amendment right allows you to purchase this game (it also allows companies to not sell you the game). Playing the game is a whole different matter:
When you first try and make an account, and then login to destiny for the first time, you will be required to agree to an EULA. Every EULA for every mature rated online game has a stipulation that looks a little like this: "by accepting to these terms, you are acknowledging that you are 17 years of age or older..."
If you agree to the EULA, and you are not 17 years old or older, you are commuting fraud. Just a heads up; that's a felony.

I don't know why your posts are being hidden since you make good points. So I'ma like 'em. And sorry International People, but Destiny's biggest audience is almost certainly going to be North America. Hence, most generalizations are going to be skewed that way. It's just something you'll have to either a) accept or b) rail against pointlessly. It's fine that y'all have your own ratings and all, but don't expect people to know your laws or be upset that everyone doesn't know everything about your country.

America's government says you must confirm you are 17. Australia's government says who buys the product must be at the legal age of the product's rating. Difference noted?

I understand your point. Most people who will read your post will assume you are trolling because they are from the US. and the laws are different. They might not partake in your survey, or purposefully skew the results. Also it's not against the law to purchase mature rated games in the United States if you are under 17 years old. It's against the law to say you are one age when you are in fact another when you accept a legally binding agreement.
