Because people need someone to blame, they always do. DeeJ just happened to take all the flak. Why? Because people didn't look too much into it.

The poster actually believes that DeeJ intentionally tried to have the title relate to the beta by insinuating it's release and then give us the bad news. I simply don't get it.

XD OMG!! Ahahaha. People man, I just don't understand them sometimes. Especially over something like this, I mean sure I too loved Marty and his amazing work, but there's no reason to shoot a messenger. DeeJ was just informing us of Marty's termination and then everyone just pounced on him like savage beasts.
