There's no way in hell this would work. They made the decision knowing his work is loved by literally the entire fan base, so there must be a legit reason behind it, regardless of how one-sided it is. The "without cause" thing makes absolutely no sense.
You don't fire someone of his caliber simply for the lols. Could be anything. A pay dispute perhaps?
"Without Cause" is a legal term. For a multitude of legal reasons, in many states within the US, employers cannot openly acknowledge the reason for termination.
Exactly. I've been in the unfortunate position of absolutely having to fire someone because of their repeated conduct. It was horrible but necessary. I refrained from disclosing the reasons publically for their sake. This may not and it is probably not the case here, but we really don't have the inside scoop. Either way, it's sad and unfortunate.
Oh wow... That's interesting.
I always heard that being fired "without cause" fell under "wrongful dismissal" which is apparently illegal. Because even if someone's fired without cause, the actual hidden reason behind that could be illegal, like personal reasons (it's illegal to fire due to age, race, sex etc...)
But there still could be a variety of reasons right? It's just that they chose not to openly acknowledge them?
And it's different to a lay-off right?
Nevertheless... I'm sure they knew how the significance of him. They wouldn't make that move for "no reason".
There's always a cause. Be it something the employer did or something the employee did. What I'm saying is that for legal reasons neither party is going to openly/publicly offer up the details of the termination. In Texas for example, the employer is not require to provide a reason. Which covers their ass.
