I have been doing a lot of invasions myself, and yeah I would agree, it seems as though it doesn't happen often. A lot of people are unprepared for it as it seems to be so rare still. And most of the time a blue protector never gets summoned in, no matter how long the fight goes, so I'm not sure if maybe not many people are in the way of blue either.
I've still probably fought more people by willingly summoning them from the red soap signs / dragon remnants, than being forcefully invaded.

I think the lack of invaders has caused a lack of protectors. No one wants to join a covenant the can't actually participate in. I'll wager most are in the sunbro's covenant (or just not wearing their rings). Have you been invaded by a blue spirit yet?

Then the 2nd time he was sent to kill me, I was up by the Drake Keepers and I was doing fairly well against him again, but that piece of shit sorcerer with his piece of shit giant AoE lightning balls kept knocking me over every 10 seconds, so we ended up in a double knock out.
