Although your idea is a good thought.
The first thing that came to my mind was Censorship.
We have the tools to Mute, Report & Dislike. I would prefer leaving the hard part (Banning) to the Ninjas

It's only local censorship, yes? You wouldn't really have control of the user by any means outside of the thread - you could just prevent them from "peeing in your pool" in a sense. I'm not suggesting giving banning options to anyone (even within the thread). Although it would be kind of cool if every user had full ninja privileges in their own threads. I.E. they could dish out local bans.
you could just prevent them from "peeing in your pool" in a sense
I would still consider this Censorship. You are preventing other users from seeing the post. Another User may agree with the person you just ban from your thread.

This is why I mentioned simply default hiding the post with an option to show hidden posts, because I figured some people might object to being irreversibly hidden (even if only on a single thread). But even if it were fully hidden - that doesn't stop the user from voicing their opinion in their own thread. And most of the people you want to have a civilized discussion with probably wouldn't auto mute everyone just for disagreeing with them. And those who do would probably quickly be branded as closed minded. You could then make your decision personally about future communications with that user - knowing that any disagreement would likely be quickly hidden.

由raveun2me编辑: 4/4/2014 5:41:21 PMAlthough this would be a kind of nice feature. It seems a bit of a Power Trip to me. Please don't take that personally. A LOT of users would abuse the system. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely I could've used this feature on several occasions :-) We had the Hide Post feature a couple months back but that was just for your own view. It wasn't global

Not a problem - I can definitely see it resulting in that kind of behavior. So no offense taken. My topics don't usually generate much foot traffic so I wouldn't expect to use a feature like this much/at all. But thought it might cut down on the complaining if people felt they could do their own part to keep their corner "clean". But your opinion is appreciated, thanks for the personal insights.
