Meh, anime still isn't that mainstream. It does seem like it's getting more popular each year, but it's still "geeky" enough to where it's not mainstream compared to something like Breaking Bad or even Halo.
That being said, I'm starting to get more hooked on it; I'm currently on E7 of Kill La Kill.
So far, KLK's been incredible. It's serious enough that it keeps the watcher interested, but it's also so comedic that there have been times when I need to pause the video so I can laugh. The biggest problem with it is pretty obviously all of the psuedo-porn, but that can be overlooked when the rest of it is so amazing.
I fondle-ly (I've been up too late) remember shotgunning this anime from 1 to 18 and then stopped because that's all that had aired up to that point. For some reason, though I've not historically been a fan of fanservice, Kill La Kill still appealed to me. I think that was because its fanservice was somewhat incorporated into the plot: people have to expose themselves to others to become stronger. Also, it's incomprehensible at times, and... Well... I'm not spoiling anything, but that relates in a way too. It's a very fun anime, but serious enough to keep me interested in it. I thought it was alright.
