Simple question, we are getting more advanced in technology and everyday people are getting more access to internet day by day. I'm not saying the government should pay for Google Fiber type of speeds, but something basic that everyone can use, like 7mbps. Would this be worth it? Opinions?
Edit: all of your arguments are invalid, Kinder says we all get porn access.

No but they should regulate it so smaller ISPs can compete with the larger companies. Its sad when mom and pop ISPs can charge a smaller fee for true unlimited internet while larger companies charge more for "Unlimited*" Then the big companies have the gull to try to pass bills that would eliminate small business owners. *300gb/month cap

1 回复In my mind, I categorize Internet access with utilities like water and electricity, which the government also doesn't provide for us and are much more essential than it. So no.

3 回复Move to that Scandinavian country that has a law where everyone has a right to have internet.

12 回复No. The government shouldn't be paying for anything private like that. If you want internet, get a job. If you want free internet access, go to your local library.
-
2 回复Nah internet has become very easy to access and cheap. Once Google fiber goes world wide everyone can get unlimited internet for a one off payment of $300.
-
3 回复No, the government shouldn't be spending anything in the first place, there's no need to add to the list. Political biases aside - still no. If you're taxing everybody to pay for everybody's internet, what's the point?
