I need your guys input on something for tomorrow
So tomorrow from 12pm-3pm my college is doing a Speed Dating service. I don't know the specifics about it, all I know is that it's at the clock tower tomorrow for that time. I was kind of interested of trying, but I feel nervous/anxious just thinking about it. The last thing I want is to embarrass myself or do/say something silly in front of others so I wasn't sure if I should go or not.
Not to mention I don't have a rides to class so I'm gonna have to walk to campus like usual, but I tend to get sweaty so I was thinking if I'm going to go I should bring an extra t-shirt and switch before the event starts. But I'm still contemplating going.
I'm really unsure and I don't socialize much outside of classes, so I was wondering what you guys think I should do.

I recently got an email from my school saying they were also going to do a speed dating thing. I was all excited and ready but then I read further and apparently it was "Research speed dating" as in you go around and talk to professors about undergrad research... Must be nice to have at least some opportunity :/

[/quote] If you get embarrassed, you only have to be embarrassed for a few minutes before moving on to someone else.

get some friends and be the most obnoxious people there or turn it into a competition. Trust me its fun as hell, me and friends crashed some random club meeting, definitely had a good time. or go by yourself just to have fun. this you chance to be spontaneous without any repercussions. It's speed dating you can say whatever the hell you want, you're gona need some good punny ice breaker jokes, but the less you care the more fun you'll have.

Observe from a distance if there are any attractive girls. I recommend a tall tree and binoculars. If there are only fat girls that look like they like horses then you get your ass out of there ASAP! If they are hot, then you just mosey on down there looking all cool and what not, and you pick up the best looking babe you can.

Why the hell not? Don't go there looking to find the love of your life. Go there to meet a few people and have a good time. If something works out, awesome. If not, oh well. The only pressure involved in the situation is the pressure you place on yourself.

You should do it. This is coming from someone that would be too shy to even consider such a thing so maybe my opinion on the matter is a bit worthless and hypocritical, but you should step out of your shell and be a bit more spontaneous, you never know the outcome unless you try.
