Either a GTX 780 or a R9 290. And for the sake of simplicity, they both have stock coolers.
My friend said he'd rather go with an R9 290. I think he's wrong.

2 回复The 780 is one of the most powerful cards out there. Plus you can't go wrong with NVIDIA PhysX.

7 回复由Ad Hoc编辑: 1/20/2014 8:24:03 PM290 has terrible cooling/overheating problems, and is overpriced because of Litecoin and Bitcoin miners. And dat 780 Titan cooler. HAVE MY CHILDREN.

6 回复While Wargamer has posted a link summarising why to buy the 780 over the R9 290X, here are a few reasons for those of you who don't want to leave the site: GTX costs more but runs far quieter and at much, much lower temperatures. 290X is essentially running flat out when outputting high detail and res, while the 780 seems to be jogging, with much more energy to spare. A nice analogy from Tech of Tomorrow, I feel. The 780 costs more but you get a much nicer-looking and better-built card for the money.

1 回复AMD's stock cooler is terribad. The R9 with a good aftermarket cooler would be pretty good, but I'd take the 780 if we're sticking to reference cards.

4 回复The confusing thing about Radeon cards is that is has the R series like r9 290 and the HD series and I can't tell which are better. The HD 7990 has 6 gb of DDR5 but I don't know if that matters when it comes to gaming.

1 回复由Uncle Putin编辑: 1/20/2014 9:06:47 PMNvidia always. The Raedon has generally better specs but those specs are idealistic and under only extreme optimal conditions (like overclocking). The 780 has better benchmarks so I would go with that.

1 回复I have a GTX780, and I think it's amazing. I've never used any GPUs that aren't by Nvidia, however. How do their specs compare (I'm too lazy to look it up)?

3 回复由BannedPiranha编辑: 1/20/2014 8:20:41 PMPersonally I'd go with the 780. Generally for the higher end cards Nvidia is probably your best bet, imo. I'm also a bit of a Nvidia fanboy.

18 回复Go with either one. I prefer Radeon cards but that's just me. Nvidia is still really good so if you you would rather go with that then go with it.
