I finally caved. Said I'd skip it after the crap fest that was 3, but since I got a couple gift cards for Christmas I ended up using one on Black Flag. It beat out BF4 and all its issues.
Wasn't expecting much, but I've gotta say I'm kinda surprised how much I've been enjoying it so far. I'm not even that far in (Act 3), but just sailing around is fantastically awesome. Capturing forts, hunting sharks, sinking pirate hunters, collecting treasures and shanties is all really fun.
The fact that you can sale around the Caribbean, sink a couple ships, then dive overboard and swim to an island to explore a city or ruin, with no loading screens is pretty great. Even the parts outside the animus are keeping me intrigued with the QR code sticky notes to collect.
Its basically done what Elderscrolls games always do to me. I've completely forgotten about the main questline and have just gone off exploring, doing side quests and building up my ship. (Gotta add in that it looks flipping gorgeous on the Vita.)
So what are your thoughts on Black Flag so far? I can't be the only one playing the shit out of this.

2 回复
-blam!-ing amazing . Best one since 2
Especially in term's of characters, Edward comes close to Ezio, and is definitely worthy of his own side games! there's also alot more variety in how you tackle missions to me, most of the time, you can either be stealthy or fight your way through, depending on how you prefer to play.

6 回复I have it like 92% complete and I hate it. But I have nothing else to play other than Battleshat 4.

2 回复loved the part where you find out Edward Kenway was actually a Secret government agent from the future, and you proceed to slice up people with a laser sword, and shoot everything with laser cannons instead of your pistols.

4 回复Did you play 3? If not, I can do a plot sum for it. Also 4 is -blam!-ing fantastic and brings me back to what I loved about the series (collection feathers/flags/animus frags) I just wish the "hacking" of the computers had hard puzzles such as Subject 16's. I'd love for it to be really hard to hack it, the way it should be.

My only problems are when boarding other ships, Edward doesn't always go where I need him to go, not countering attacks when I press the counter button, and my crew always getting in the way of my attacks. But I love how in the present segments, you get some insight on Ubisoft's game design.

I'll say that I actually kinda like ac4 better than 2. The atmosphere is perfect. Honestly I wish they would've gone back away from recent history to old stuff, but I can't complain because they did such a perfect job with the pirate theme. Sailing everywhere isn't a chore, because there's something you can do on every little island. My only complaint is with the general story. Not to give spoilers, but I'm tired of the whole being separate from the Assassins and not knowing anything about them. That's something I'd like to see the series get away from in the coming games. It's gotten old after ac2. I give ac4 like a 9.5/10, at least, for the singleplayer that is. I haven't tried multiplayer yet, ac3 was awful so I'm hesitant

2 回复Didn't vote because there's no option for 'Liked it' I don't love it, yet it's not lackluster. Quite enjoyable thanks to the setting. Definitely a step up from III.

5 回复It's one of the best games this year. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if AC 2014 sucks. Basically there's a 50/50 chance of AC being good. Those are shitty odds. And as great as AC IV is it's still riddled with problems that just keep piling up because these games are pushed out on such a tight schedule.
