In regards to the cons they listed: Why do companies even bother dubbing Japanese games halfheartedly? Japan treats their voice actors like we treat our movie stars, they have [i]multiple colleges dedicated to Voice acting,[/i] simply leaving the voices as is would be perfectly fine for for most every game - and most importantly, it wouldn't cost anything to keep the audio the same, but it does take up resources to put together even a shoddy dub.
I mean, it's almost like they don't want to sell the game...
I think I remember reading somewhere that the devs focused only on Japan for this game. They were surprised at the hype for it in the west. So maybe they never intended for it to catch on and just did the English half-assed to save money. SquareEnix tends to be pretty cheap/greedy so makes sense.
