where is the radar range gun at? i'm trying not to get to the wrong areas(story progression) first to get the audio logs.

I think downstairs in Appliances, if I remember correctly. There's an audio diary about it nearby, and I'm pretty sure a turret in front of it. At least, a tearable one. Elizabeth will also mention it when she sees it. It's sort of under the main floor above if that makes sense.
