From my experience, I can say people have mixed views on dual weilding in Halo. What's your opinion on the feature? Was it better in either Halo 2 or Halo 3? Did you never care for it or could you never really resist the allure of gunning with twice the style?

2 回复Notice how the pistol was -blam!-ing garbage in Halo 3? I don't want that to ever happen again

7 回复I love how people say duel wielding cluttered the sandbox with weapons that were useless by themselves. Since when has 1 SMG been useless? That gun will destroy and AR at close range. And the Spiker and plasma rifle were extremely powerful at close range when coupled with a melee. I think the problem is you guys are noobs and never figured out how to use them properly.

由Smarkdow编辑: 12/26/2013 2:14:52 AMInteresting idea, but it doesn't work. It has inherent balance issues that cannot be resolved. It creates a weapon sandbox filled with redundant half weapons; weapons like the CE Plasma Rifle ended up being nerfed to hell in Halo 2 and 3 due to dual wielding. And it doesn't work well with Halo's Golden Triangle.

2 回复由kgj编辑: 10/24/2013 9:30:29 PMHorrible. Of course the majority will pick "Good." I haven't even looked at the results and it's easy to see. Actually, I think dual wielding could work. But only without nerfing the weapon's power. No, instead, we'd have to enact another method of "nerf." One pertaining to accuracy. What's the word I'm looking for... Bloom.

由G7kherc编辑: 12/25/2013 9:40:00 AMI really enjoyed using the mechanic. It was better in Halo 3 because no dual needlers and it was much more balanced and useful in Halo 3 imo. Although it is pretty hard to balance, they should include it in Halo 5 because it creates more variety without using custom loadouts like Halo 4 and wrecking/ignoring the core of Halo and what is was about and what made it popular. I was fine without it in Halo 1 though. Halo Reach was pretty good without it too. I would prefer it though in Halo 5. Dem smgs Dat combo of teh plasma rifle n smg Someone mentioned bloom. Whilst that is a good idea to nerf and balance the mechanic it also limits it even more, less and less people are going to use it. I mean the smg's are known for dual wielding and how awesome they are. The mechanic has been nerfed enough: no aiming, a very limited range/close range so any mid/far/power weapon would destroy you, can't throw grenades, longer reloading. I'd say it has been nerfed and balanced enough but is still usable, if bloom were introduced it would make dual wielding impossible since dual wielding is designed to spray and prey. So no bloom, right?

Bad. Most combinations sucked ass, couldn't melee, couldn't throw grenades, longer reload time, and couldn't kill someone with a precision weapon. This is why hardly ANYONE would pick up Spikers, SMGs, and Plasma Rifles in Halo 3. They would get out BR'd or AR Melee'd.

1 回复It's great when you start with a dual-wieldable weapon like in Halo 2, but when you start with a single weapon like the Assault Rifle, it renders it pretty useless.
