Well, I have a job so the 15$ sub fee doesn't bother me nearly as much as some of these whiners.
Play the PC version if possible so there is no additional Live/PS+ pay wall. Pretty much comes down to if you think 15$ is a huge barrier or not.

It adds up if you pay for a whole year yeah, that's why most people only sub for the times when they play. Pay this month but don't have time to game next month so don't pay. Then renew later when you have time to play. There's no guarantee that you will like the game enough to continue to pay anyways. That's why they give you a free month sub with the purchase.
