Although I love CE's weapon sandbox and I consider it to be one of the best in the series, I'm actually gonna go with Reach on this one.
I just loved the Pro Pipe. And the Concussion Rifle. And the Needle Rifle. And the Focus Rifle.
I miss the Pro Pipe and Focus Rifle.

6 回复How the flying -blam!- is this even a competition? Reach blows EVERY other game out of the water! -blam!-ing CE only had 8 weapons for -blam!-s sake!

CE. Maybe the best weapon balance in a game ever. Each weapon had a role, but also disadvantages. 2's dual-wielding messed things up a lot, plus Brute Plasma Rifles. wat Even more redundant Brute weapons in 3. Reach had a lot of asymmetry in the UNSC/Covenant division, making some of Invasion unfair. 4 had some great stuff, but the Forerunner sandbox had a lot of missed potential.
-
CE > 4 = Reach > ODST >>>>>>>2 = 3 -CE was the best, every weapon had a role and all were usefull -4 had a better overall sandbox than Reach. However, things like the GL, PL and FR bump it up to equal standings -ODST is included because the dual wielding removal buffed weapons like the spiker and the silenced weapons. -2 and 3 were horrible. Poor balancing, redundant half weapons, useless automatics ect.

1 回复CE had a wonderfully clean-cut sandbox, but the Halo 2 sandbox intoduced so many weapons we now know and love (well, for the most part).

由The Random编辑: 10/21/2013 2:35:31 PMThis is incredibly hard. Halo: Combat Evolved=Halo: Reach>Halo 3=Halo 2>Halo 4 -Each weapon in Halo: Combat Evolved was very useful, while Halo: Reach had the greatest variety/amount of weapons available. -Halo 2 and Halo 3 had duel-wielding, which was incredibly awesome. But there were more useless weapons (Like the Plasma Pistol in Halo 2 and the Magnum in Halo 3) than in Halo: CE and Reach. -Halo 4 had awesome Promeathean weapons (All except for the Boltshot), but the Covenant arsenal wasn't really fun to use. The only good addition to the UNSC arsenal was the Rail Gun.

CE and 4, without a doubt. But CE is the top dog here. ODST managed to hugely improve Halo 3's rather awful sandbox by tweaking some of the weapons, note how all the titles I've mentioned so far as having a balanced sandbox have no dual-wielding (you'd almost think that there's a pattern there). The Spiker got a damage buff so it became a suitable alternative to the SMG if you ran out of ammo for it, same with the Mauler in comparison to the shotgun.

1 回复Halo 2 introduced two very enjoyable weapons, the energy sword and brute shot. And nixed the unbalanced Assault Rifle in favor of the SMG.

5 回复由PandaJerk007编辑: 10/21/2013 5:00:18 AMThey've all had a really nice weapon sandbox, but CE, Reach, and 4 have had the most well rounded imo. Those are also the games without dual wielding, so I think that probably helps. (Although I would like to see the return of dual-wielding, but with some kinda big changes)
