Absolutely false, alcohol is the gateway drug. In fact, cannabis is a potential exit-drug off of harder substances. You should educate yourself on a topic before discussing it. This was debunked long ago.

I think it's only a gateway drug because it's illegal. Its illegal status means you can only buy it from dealers who tend to also offer other illicit substances like cocaine/crack. Some dealers were even lace pot with these substances so you find yourself craving better/different highs and become addicted to cocaine and buying from them constantly. If pot were legal, it would no longer be a gateway drug.
