So...it's Mass Effect in a new universe? Are they gonna try some multiverse bullshit where "in this timeline the Reapers returned and this guy/girl named Shepard stopped them." Then have an entirely new plot line in the same IP but not involving Shepard or Reapers? Or are the just saying "Yeah it's totally Mass Effect, just in a different setting (IP)." After that ending fiasco I'm taking what they say with a train of salt and waiting until after release to see if I'm getting it or not.

I feel like this is a really good and really stupid idea at the same time. Its a good idea because I enjoy the Mass Effect games, however if it takes place in another universe/galaxy, who're you going to play as and why? (Obviously that'll be explained later) but what I mean by that is essentially they already made an unstoppable galactic force that took the entire galaxy's combined races just to even get close to stopping it. How could they build up something more badass than the Reapers?

I know that's what you meant, I meant that you don't necessarily need a story with a huge colossal war for it to be good. Say for instance you play as X alliance and Y alliance from B planet wants to expand their empire, because their planet is dying. It wouldn't affect the whole galaxy, but all sorts of shenanigans could happen as you traverse the galaxy looking for ways to stop them. On the way you could interfere with the affairs of other races and their wars.
