People who believe just to avoid a possible penalty don't really have faith. It's the single worst reason to believe in a god. Were I god, I would reject those who had faith as the 'safe bet' and only accept those who believed in the face of reason.

由GiantDad编辑: 9/25/2013 4:08:28 AMAnd what if theists are wrong and when we die we no longer exist in any form and are doomed to an eternity of unfathomable nothing where the only hope to come back to life is if someone revives us before our body decays or before the sun completely eradicates the Earth altogether, vaporizing our DNA from every spec that was once the very land that our bodies were once buried in?

由King Dutchy编辑: 9/25/2013 2:04:48 AM-blam!- Pascal and his wager. Plus, I wouldn't feel silly because religious people don't come to the conclusion that an afterlife exists through rational means. It's similar to two people guessing whether a coin would land heads or tails, and the person who picked tails got it right even though the person didn't pick tails through rational means.
