I think it was really close but the mushy romantic stuff was a tad too much and well the cheap comedy from Bolin also pissed me off. He's just TRIES to be funny, Sokka was funny and strategic/smart (he was an actual, important character!).
Not to mention Korra just mastered the avatar state just like that. Unlike Aang. Maybe someone can clear that up for me.
I have a feeling season 2 is going to be much better though and good as the original series.
Anyway. I hope Zuko appears in season 2,3,4 (hopefully 2) and we see alot of him and you know how his life, relationship (Zuko x Mai FTW!), etc.
T4R?
EDIT: No arguing.
EDIT: Those of you saying book 1 air was close to TLAB but not as good as it, season 1 was made when they only had one season in mind, rushing the season/book, later nick agreed with the directers to have more season (4) so now they can actually have a plot which goes across all the seasons.

1 回复由S0m3W31rd0编辑: 8/19/2013 4:18:37 PMSo far I don't think it is anywhere close to the original series, I expect Book 2 to be better than Book 1, but still not as good as the original series. If I had to rate each season from both series out of 10 I would give Book 1 of LoK a 6/10 at best. For Book 1 of ATLA I would give a 7.5/10, Book 2 a 9.5/10 and Book 3 a 9/10. I'd say that Book 1 of LoK had beautiful animation, great character designs and art style, intense action scenes, but it was let down by the rushed plot and poorly written characters. Instead they tried to compress 20 episodes worth of content into 12 episodes. I think if they cut the love triangle bullshit and the pro-bending sub-plot, they would have more screen time to focus on the main conflict which could have resulted in a better written season. Also if this was going to be the only season as it was originally, I would actually say that makes the bad things even worse because there would be no chance to save the series, because at least with more seasons in the future, they have a chance to fix things and improve.

Not even close, but its still bloody good! The part of the first series i liked was all the different martial arts styles that bending followed. Also how the different tribes followed the culture from different parts of Asia. I cant really get into the mma style bending fights that were put into TLOK. Im always expecting korra to leap into some Tai Chi or Kung fu style fighting like in Aangs series. Im not really a fan of steampunk as well but its still pretty well done.

1 回复由Uberdawg编辑: 8/18/2013 9:54:22 PMI'm always shocked by how many people think it's fair to compare the first season of Korra, 10 episodes of what they thought might be their only season of the show, to the entirety of ATLA. Since I'm not going to reply to everyone individually, here's a few people in this very topic who seem to be making that mistake but they're obviously free to defend themselves and I encourage them to do so if they see this: Wars0ngGlutch WinyPit RealMattMilan And some others who had shorter posts and I'm less sure of what they were trying to say. If you compare the first 10 episodes of Korra to the first 10 of TLA with no exterior considerations, it's really not close at all: Korra is better. But that doesn't say anything about the two against each other, because the first 10 of TLA were setting up what was always expected to be a full-length, planned out story about several particular characters. The exterior considerations matter a hell of a lot. Thus I don't think it's a very fair comparison at this point in time. I will say this, though: Season 1 of Korra impressed me a lot. I think it has the potential to exceed TLA handily, and I loved TLA to death. (This hardly needs saying but there's a brigade of TLA fans out there that will never accept Korra as a superior sequel no matter how good the show gets for the next few seasons. It's like how if the Hobbit trilogy was the greatest film trilogy in history there would still be a number of fans who would say LOTR was way better.)

1 回复I think it's going to end up better than the first series. I loved the original, but I always thought Season 1 was weak. Season 1 of Korra is top-notch though. If it can maintain or exceed this quality as the seasons go on, it'll be amazing.

2 回复So far, no. But that is mostly because its still in its first season, which was rushed, squishing in all the stupid love square and 'fitting in' moments uncomfortably among the bending controversy and Amon. But, now that three more books are announced, the series has more time and space to develop its characters and world, and set up an inter-series arc, akin to the A:TLA. Plus, we're finally getting some freaky spirit shit that looks cool as hell!

The original show was definitely better. Theres too much damn romance in this second one. It could move a little faster, too. I felt like something important happened in every episode of the first show, and the only good stuff in Korra is the first and last few episodes.

1 回复Of course it isn't. It's still better than 96% of shows that nickelodeon has ever aired, but TLA basically raised the bar for animated television series.'

3 回复Nick needs to learn to think-out what the hell they want to promote. Same for cartoon network... I mean you have flashback shows like TMNT, Avatar, power rangers and Spongebob, yet you saturate it with teen disney show clones, like cat and sam, victorious and all those teen sitcoms...

1 回复I thought TLAB was much better in almost every way. That said, they had four full seasons, whilst Korra only had half of one. Hopefully Book 2 will be better. Could do with less lovey stuff, though.
