Not too long really. A three bedroom where I am is about $325/month. We all have our respective jobs. Two of us worked over the summer and saved up. The other is still working full time so he can get residency so school won't be so damn expensive. Our parents still help us out when we need it since we are all college kids. So it works out pretty well. If you have two trustworthy friends a three bedroom is probably the best choice you could make as a college student. If you have three go all out for a four bedroom. The more people the expenses are split between, the better off it is. My girlfriend lives with three of her friends in a legitimate house and it's only $300/month.
