probably biological. but who the -blam!- cares.
I am straight, but I could start being gay tomorrow and say that I have always been that way. and nobody could prove otherwise.

You are only gay if you are attracted to the same sex. Even if you say that you are, there may be no way to disprove you, but you aren't actually gay. It's like if I have a box and lie about what's inside of it. There's no way to know what's inside, but I'm still lying and something different is still inside.
