EA wants to charge $80 for next-gen games

What really bothers me is, what if they need to do this? What if their games really do cost so much to make, that they have to charge this much to keep making a profit?
If that is the case, this industry really needs a crash. A crash wouldn't kill gaming, only disinterest could do that, but it would at least take all of these bloated and greedy publishers out of the picture.

2 回复I'm sorry if I sound callous, but I'll never pay $80 for a video game. That is absurdly expensive. $60 is hard enough for me to fork over. The only games I've bought new were games by Bungie. I'd rather wait for the price of a used copy to drop.

1 回复So you're telling me that EA is potentially going to want people to spend an extra $20 on copy and paste games? All while people are complaining that these copy and paste sports games should be $20 cheaper or just receive roster updates? LOL FAIL.

EA may be greedy, but they're marketing department isn't stupid. They've brought success to many good games in the past. I doubt they will follow through this, especially if they want to beat out competition like Call of Duty and the likes of other first party games. I'm not getting a next gen console anyway, but I don't see EA charging so much unless they can find a way to rationalize the pricing that customers accept.

2 回复They puff up their chests, but I doubt they'll actually do anything. Say CoD's selling for $60 while Battlefield is priced at $80. Comparable games in many respects, more people would jump on the CoD wagon. Surely EA realizes this.
