Marissa Alexander: the woman who got 20 years for a "Warning shot"
they say she was an innocent victim who was sent to jail for defending herself based on race.
the news and celebritards are NOT giving you all the info about this case.
she wasn't being beaten that day.
she originally went there to drop off her daughter as per court orders(custody court).
she had a restraining order against her from her husband, was convicted(no contest plea) of domestic violence for giving him a black eye months before the incident, was able to leave but re-entered to "get her forgotten car keys"(her words), then started the altercation and pulled a gun on him and his two children(9 and 13 at the time).
she had a violent history before the incident, and she also shot at the people, missed and hit the room her kids were in.
she had to be coaxed out by the S.W.A.T. unit.
she also was offered a plea deal by the state for 3 years with credit for time served but turned it down for the mandatory 20 year sentence. she CHOSE 20 years in prison.

She had a restraining order on her prior to the shooting? If you read it again, that is a typo. It sounds more like she violated the order against him by contacting him. Weird. Considering the next paragraph: [quote]She didn’t have to get 20 years, because I took into account their prior domestic history and her lack of a [criminal] record, and we offered her the three year mandatory minimum” in a plea bargain attempt before the trial.[/quote] It would appear most likely that she had no record, meaning the prior assault mentioned was the husband, not Alexander. The prosecutor also remains completely ambiguous over whose house they were in. In the first half, it makes it sound like they were in a shared house. Later, the prosecutor says that Alexander returned to his house. Which is it? This prosecutor certainly isn't a quality writer. You lecture others about their sources, then link to a prosecutor's rant, which has to have obvious bias, and is ambiguously written?
