Your ship goes down in the middle of the Pacific Ocean due to poor maintenance combined with mechanical failure and navigatorial incompetence leading to sinkage during the night in a far beyond off the planned course path. The event strands you on a smallish, livable but uninhabited Pacific island that is not on any map. you will never get rescued off the island or discovered.
